Meet Dr. Lisa J. Wong, MD, MS | Board-Certified Ophthalmologist (Eye Surgeon & Physician)
Dr. Lisa Wong is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) from Stanford University. Prior to this, she obtained a Master of Science degree in Biophysics from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology (Concentration: Biophysics) from Princeton University. She received a fellowship to study as a visiting graduate student of Physics at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Dr. Wong completed specialized training with an ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado, where she was a Chief Resident. She has worked in private practice in the Colorado community as well as internationally, as a visiting professor and surgeon.
She accepts almost all insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Areas of expertise include cataract surgery, LASIK & PRK, macular degeneration, diabetes retinopathy, glaucoma, cosmetic procedures, and eyelid surgery.
Her work has been presented internationally and published in a multitude of prestigious medical journals, including Retina, Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics, and Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging. She is the recipient of the prestigious National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship and New York Academy of Medicine’s Rogers Fellowship.
Dr. Wong’s husband is a professor of Materials Science at the Colorado School of Mines. They both volunteer on the Nordic Ski Patrol at Bryan Mountain. They also enjoy biking, hiking, and playing with their two young children. Dr. Wong is conversant in Mandarin Chinese and medical Spanish.
